Flight Capacity is not a reflex test: the flight task is the primary task and the other three stack on top of it. The course text is explicit about the framing — the module was developed taking inspiration from the psychomotor, attention and capacity tests used in real pilot selection, and designed to be consistent with MPL and Pegasus exam logic. What it measures is your capacity to run four channels together.

Heading: Keep The Compass In The Purple Target
The first channel is heading. Tilting the joystick left and right turns the nose, and you keep the compass value inside the purple target band on screen. In this view the other channels stay quiet; you only watch how the compass drifts and how long a correction takes. The flight task is the primary task — in the exam the other three stack on top of it.

Flight Capacity measures four separate skills not one by one but stacked on top of each other: the hand correcting the flight, the eye scanning the lamp panel, memory holding ten digits and the ear filtering the number stream. What is the Flight Capacity (CAP) test?
Flight Capacity is a training module designed to measure and develop a candidate’s ability to run several tasks at once, along with psychomotor coordination, attention and memory. Four tasks stack on top of each other in a cockpit layout: flight, visual detection, number recall and auditory tracking. The module was developed taking inspiration from the capacity and psychomotor tests used in real pilot selection processes.
Is this the same as the Capacity module?
No — they are two separate modules and are sold separately. The Capacity module has two tasks: holding the aircraft on course with the joystick, and catching visual matches in the Dice and Rod stages. Flight Capacity has four tasks in a full cockpit layout: while you hold heading, altitude and speed together, the lamp panel, number recall and auditory task run as well. The names are similar and get confused, so check which one is in your cart.
How many tasks do I have to run at once?
Four. The primary task is the flight: you keep heading, altitude and speed inside the purple targets shown on screen. On top of that come answering the lamp panel above the screen on the Numpad, recalling and entering the two five-digit numbers shown on the PFD, and tracking the number stream in your headset.
How do the controls work in the flight task?
Tilting the joystick left and right drives heading, moving it forward and back drives altitude, and the throttle drives speed. An important warning from the course text: pulling the joystick towards you increases altitude, pushing it forward decreases it. You are advised to think of it as a real cockpit and make small, controlled inputs.
How does the visual task work?
Lamps light up in different positions across the top of the screen, and you press the Numpad key matching the position of the lit lamp. For example 8 for the top-middle lamp and 5 for the centre one. The position-to-key mapping follows the Numpad’s own layout.
How does the number-recall task work?
Two consecutive five-digit numbers are shown on the PFD. When the screen stops you enter them in order on the Numpad: for 85000 – 26023, first 85000 Enter, then 26023 Enter. The course text’s tip is that recalling the numbers by grouping them through association improves performance.
What am I listening for in the auditory task?
You listen carefully to the numbers coming through the headset. If three even numbers arrive in a row you press Z; if three odd numbers arrive in a row you press X. This task measures auditory attention and fast decision-making.
Is a joystick required, or is a keyboard enough?
It can be played with a keyboard; the module is designed to be keyboard-accessible. A joystick, however, gives a far more realistic cockpit experience, especially in the flight task. The course text recommends a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro or similar; standard USB joysticks are compatible too.
What do the demos on this page show?
There are four teaching views, each played through the module’s own automatic flight: the heading channel shows the compass alone, the altitude channel shows holding altitude through pitch, the all-three view shows heading, altitude and speed together, and the exam run shows all four tasks. In these views the module flies, not you; the point is to watch the correct correction rhythm.
Why does the demo take a while to open?
The module is Unity-based and downloads a payload of around 72 MB, so the first launch takes a few seconds. A loading card is shown meanwhile, and then the automatic flight takes over. Later launches are noticeably faster thanks to browser caching.
Is it hard for beginners?
No. The module includes both a training mode and an exam simulation, and because the difficulty increases over time it suits both beginners and advanced candidates. Starting with the single-channel views and moving up to the four-task exam run is the healthiest progression.
